Description: Marble pillar with 2 figures
Caption: "Mr. Eastman's ashes rest beneath the great central stone, contained in a bronze urn within a steel box. The bank sloping upward from the edges of the plaza is overgrown with creeping myrtle, fringed with a thick growth of low evergreens. A circle of trees shade the memorial, designed by Ralph Walker. Sculptor Leo Friedlanderr carved the figures.
At its unveiling Dr. Rush Rhees, President of the U. of R. and personal friend of Mr. Eastman, said, During all the coming years this memorial will be a lasting symbol of the abiding influence and inspiration which the memory of George Eastman will exert on all who knew him..."
