Description: A bird and cat modeled after student sculptures.
Caption: This is a collaboration between students in art teacher Cathy Feinen's classes and guest artist Vincent Massaro, who lives in the neighborhood. Massaro helped students model fantasy animals in clay that were fired and painted. They were the inspiration for his sculpture completed later in the school year. Students helped with the installation and painting.
School PTA president Richard Margolis organized a Time Capsule project that included contributions from students in each class. Drawings, letters, photographs, coins (and probably homework assignments) were sealed into a waterproof container and enclosed in the base of the sphere under the the bird. Each student who participated received a certificate that they could save as a memento. There is no specified date for opening the capsule.
